How do I hang such a heavy piece of artwork on my wall?

When you purchase a piece of artwork, no matter the size, I will give you a French Cleat Mounting system and hardware. Please see the link below on how to properly use the system.
What materials do you use to construct this artwork?

I am using a ¾ inch plywood base and I cover it in a felt fabric to help protect the walls. I then assemble the piece using Doug Fir/Larch mix 2×2 or 4×4 blocks. I first apply a thick bead of wood glue and then put a 1” brad nail into each block.
Do I have to find a stud in the wall to mount this artwork?

I would prefer that you find a stud to ensure that it is very secure. The larger pieces definitely need at least a screw or two into a stud. You can use wall anchors/screws on the other holes.
Can I request any size/color/pattern for my space or do I have to find one in your collection that I like?
